These are the gods within Embris that were created by the Major gods to fulfil more niche jobs and take command over more minor domains of the world, some being overseen by the Major gods directly while others are free to go about their duties unchecked.
One of the eternal cycles, the day, the night, the sun, the moon. Ever-moving and forever intertwined. Both of these celestial bodies are but representations of the beings Solis and Luna. Solis and Luna are two minor, sibling gods under Airdruuma and Sonea-Paix who grow and change together throughout eternity. During the beginning of the year both take the form of children, running across the surface of the sky as they laugh and play, always trying to catch one another. In the summer season the two reach young adulthood, moving together as the celestial bodies do as they converse and find joy in each others company as they feel the days go by. In the Fall they reach their full adult forms, watching over the world with wisdom as it progresses through the season of their matron. Finally at the end of the year as the cold season comes the two reach an elderly version of their forms, with the two moving slower as they trail after their heavenly bodies. At the end of the year the two are reborn, rising once more as children to begin playing together again.
The sun half of the celestial twins, Solis is a being of passion and quick to act. In the early season while he is childlike he often likes to play active games with Luna, chasing her about, running around and hiding, etc. As he grows however he often gets a bit more strong in his ideals, knowing his version of right and wrong is true. Where his sister gains wisdom he gains the ability to generate stories from what he has witnessed during the heat of battle underneath the sun. When he hits his elderly form he is known to give out advice to others in terms of how to complete tasks like farming, how to properly wage war, and many other things he has seen throughout the ages. His symbol is that of a red circle surrounded by an orange one, or artwork of a sun emitting rays. Followers of Solis often find warmth and power when moving underneath the sun's rays.
Luna is the moon half of the celestial twins, where her brother is more ferocious and passionate she is more quiet and peaceful. In the early season while her form is more childlike she is often curious, using the moon as a way to peer down onto the world and show people those things hidden in the night. As she grows she becomes more at peace with the world and more serene towards those who are able to view her. As she grows towards her elderly stages she becomes a bit more open and friendly, known to dispense some wisdom as the long nights go by. Her symbol is the crescent moon. Some of her followers act as guardians in the night, protecting civilization against beings that seek to destroy it in the dark.
While the Supreme Gods and their Months cared for the affairs of mortals and the planes, the Scribe alone handled the affairs of the souls. Eventually, the Scribe desired assistance in the curation of the Library, Marethyu was the first of these gods to be etched into existence. The Scribe tasked Marethyu with the task of ferrying souls to his realm so that they may experience death and all that comes after. Marethyu is the god of the crossroads, they stand at twilight and oversee the boundary between life and death. They are the psychopomp that leads the newly dead and guides lost souls toward the realm of death– the library where the stories of all souls are transcribed.
Marethyu's presence is felt in the liminal spaces, the boundary at which difficult choices are made and finality is dealt. Mareythu is an impartial presence, he does not direct those who stand at the crossroads one way or another, he merely demands a choice be made. It is said that in times of peril when a mortal stands at the precipice of change and a great choice must be made, Marethyu’s presence is felt. Marethyu takes the shape of an ethereal hooded figure, one arm outstretched with a glowing lantern that shines a silvery light through the darkness. The lantern is said to carry an untampered spark of Eternus’s own flame, emanating a warmth that all who were crafted from the very same sparks can feel. Hooked inside the other arm, Marethyu carries an ornate golden scale, so that one may weigh their choices more carefully.
The symbol of Marethyu is a lantern set in between a scale.
The second of its brethren crafted to curate the Scribe’s library, Jechiles was tasked with ensuring the sanctity of its contents, to be an arbiter of death. Jechiles is the god of judgment, the protector of the library, and the keeper of the crypt. To those who cannot make the final choice, those whose lost souls linger beyond their time, and those who refuse to touch of death itself– Jechiles places the gift, or curse, of undeath. Undeath is the state of all those who do not enter the Library, to be bound in decay and rot, and it is in the dead of night that Jechiles stands to watch over them.
Although Jechiles is an unbiased god, he is often seen by mortals as a cruel and menacing figure. Jechiles takes the shape of a towering figure, hunched over with a great lupine skull for a head. In each of his arms, Jechilles carries an obsidian sickle, said to render flesh with the icy touch of death and directly hook upon the souls of its victims. Those who carry out the most egregious of deeds that are sacrilegious to the Scribe himself are said to face the full judgment of Jechilles.
The symbol of Jechiles is a Lupine Skull between two crossed sickles.
Symbol: A Skein of Silver Thread and a Needle
Ceridious is the final god crafted by Scribe’s own hand to assist in the curation of the Library, tasked with the binding of souls to new books. Ceridious is the goddess of reincarnation and stories untold, she is the last thing one sees before entering their mother’s womb. There is a moment when a soul wandering the Library feels it is time to move onwards, they leave behind their past lives to be born anew once more. This is perhaps the most delicate process, to carefully bind the blank pages of a new book using silvery threads that glisten like starlight, each and every book is unique in make and any mistake is reflected upon the very soul of the individual.
Ceridious is said to be a maiden dressed in all white, beautiful except for the fact that she has no face. She stands on the horizon as the new day is born, looking onward towards futures unseen. Ceridious carries with her a skein of silvery thread, said to be made of fibers spindled from the sparks of Eternus themselves. Beyond binding books, Ceridious uses these threads to weave impossible tapestries upon her loom that shimmer with different images of possible futures.
The symbol of Ceridious is a Skein of silver thread and a needle.
When the world began, and the Supreme gods were retired to the ends of the planes. The gods that remained saw that the humanoid creatures had nothing but the beasts of the lands and other creatures. Some of the gods worked together to create another race of creatures to contend or ally with the humanoids:
Iktovar, The Unknown, poured his knowledge of secrets and desire to find things into the essence of the blood
Sifyri, The Blacksmith, Forged the scales of these creatures, to be resilient to damage
Sonea-Paix, The Provider, formed their shapes and allowed them to shift and change, and gifted the ability to churn the earth with ease
Vaikas, The Child, gifted wings and mastery of their elements, also giving them the ability to pass their essence into new beasts and creations.
Along with the dragon gods, 4 Greatwyrms were made, less powerful but still strong, one gifted to guard each of the areas deep inside the elemental planes.
From a fragment of Embris, created two halves of an entity.
One being so bright, it was mistaken for the sun. Shalavren, twin father of metallic dragonkin, was a benevolent god to the creations of Embris. He plucked each a few of his many scales and shaped them into the first Dragons to breathe the air of Embris. The metallic dragons were taught to respect and protect the humanoids of this plane.
For many centuries this was true till the corruption of man took root. Angry that his perfect creations were falling to the hands of the humans, Shalavren grew to dislike the races of Embris that sought harm to his children. The events that took place in the dragon wars brought a rift in his heart. He shunned both sides, this was not what he wanted nor thought would happen. After the war Shalavren grew further distasteful to mortalkind, and thus looks poorly towards all who haven’t earned his trust or respect.
His eternal domain holds golden trees that grow fruit made of gems, the tallest mountains filled with caverns and endless diamonds. Shalavren's domain, Golden Rest, is where all metallic dragons wish to spend their eternal life at once they pass on. But it is said the gates to the Golden Rest don't open to anyone since Shalavren sent his first borns to guard the gates from any that are not worthy.
Shalavren still loves his creations. In his eyes, he is the judge, jury, and executioner for any who wish to bask in his light.
The Crystalized Light was split in two, the first dragon egg. Aemreis, The Shining One, was born simultaneously to their brother Shalavren. She embraces more than what was expected of her makers, as a part of a little trick by Kolpati, she embraces Chaos and drives her kind to push things to the extreme and make problems for others.
Aemreis created her children in assorted colours, enjoying their beauty. She taught her children that the only thing that matters in life is living, and to forget about the creatures they might interfere with, as they were stronger. She introduced the ability for the dragons to grow and gain power from their hordes, whatever it may be.
When the other creatures started fighting her children she spoke up and demanded that blood be shed for blood. When the war ended and many of her children were wiped out, she swore vengeance against any who would seek to harm her children. It is said that any who bear anything made from a part of a dragon will be given no mercy from her wrath, even that which is freely given.
Whilst her Brother lives in The Golden Rest, Aemreis instead delved deeper and found home in the deepest darkest corners of Embris, her gate isn’t guarded by anything, save a steep slide of smooth rock, right into the lair of darkened jewels and melted bones. Some say she went mad and started talking to herself, others say she got lonely and so used some of her powers to grow more beautiful heads. Others think that she was cursed by Kolpati for not creating more chaos, but the fact remains, that she hasn’t been seen in a long time, and her hoard hasn’t stopped growing…
Taletsuki was formed after the war had ended. With no signs of living creatures, Iktovar walked the battlefield, talking with Vindera about the signs of magic staying in the area and destabilising the area for living creatures. A Large geode was pulled from the shadows and thrown in a pool of the coalescing blood by Iktovar to show the instability, and the blood pooled into the cracks, the energy forming life inside.
Both the gods noticed this and brought it back to Vindera’s realm to study, this geode eventually hatched into a form of dragon, blessed with both Chromatic and Metallic properties, the crystals formed a connection to the more arcane forms of magic and it’s scales formed that of precious gems. It cried in excitement at its beautiful body.
Iktovar noticed a series of connections occurring during the cries of joy, and saw the connections find their way to the dragons misshapen and altered by the war, and their scales turned to dust as they shifted and became that of gems. Being born of the blood of divine dragons and the blood of many faithful, it appeared that another minor god of dragons was born, a decade after the war, a third god to the dragons to provide a majority to the decisions they might make in the future.
Taletsuki is said to traverse the planes and watch all sorts of things to return and tell tales to those who would listen. She is said to occasionally bless the performances of Bards who hold true to the trade of telling stories, but only if they are completely true.
Vasdes is a minor god under the domain of Paphyr, having been created to fulfill the needs of those who make deals with more…ignoble desires. Deals in which one sought to gain much more than necessary. Vasdes often is known to relish in reviewing and creating deals in this nature, being depicted in the symbol of a pile of coins with toothy smiles on them.
Followers of Vasdes are often found in Madinat, where unfair fiendish deals are highly prominent. They are also found among those who deal in coin and other items of value.
Dhigan is a minor god under the domain of Kolpati, it is the god of growth. It is commonly depicted through the iconography of a large frog head. Whist the god often avoids direct human contact it is responsive to the sacrificing of foods to it, causing the foods to disappear from the altar and occasionally offering rewards to those who please it with these offerings. It accepts any form of food, including things some may deem unsavory... It is said that with each offering that pleases Dhigan, the god grows in size. Few know if this is true, or for what reasons this god continues to makes itself grow to such enormous sizes. Its followers often provide food for it while on the move, coming from portions of their own consumed food as a sign of reverence.
Created by Leontari, Zwendegost represents those combatants who have been tried and tested in countless battles as the god of martial prowess. The god views his followers by their scars and achievements, how they have grown through their efforts to become masters of the battlefield. The god is usually depicted by the image of swords clashing. Followers of Zwendegost tend to be masters of the blade who have spent years refining their techniques and skills.
