Below you will find a log of events that have occurred since the foundations of the server Embris. These include topics from major events that shook the foundations of the world itself, to questlines run by DMs that are known within areas of the world for their impact and the heroics of the adventurers within.
A dark ritual occurred within the center of Madinat, the sacrifice of a dozen human souls which opened up a portal directly between the prime material and Embris. Through this portal flooded hordes of eager fiends seeking to stake their claims within the prime material.
Those that escaped the portal early scattered throughout the world, bringing chaos to Embris. As time went on, adventurers were brought in to help cull the horde, sending fiends back to the Hells and trying to bring the situation under control.
Unbeknownst to the adventurers, they were playing into the hands of the fiendish lords of Madinat. Those with power utilized the chaos to further consolidate their power, with fiends like the Seakeeper utilizing their physical forms to strike down their competition with the help of Silver, Lucian Blackwood, Alimon Saiqua, and Lycanblood. Beginning a new sea empire out of Madinat.
Once the tide was stemmed the lords brought the portal under control, properly regulating what fiends were allowed to enter into the prime material, and taxing them heavily to do so.
Elemental disasters washed over the continents of Embris. Earthquakes, tidal surges, out of control fires. Elemental entities arrived through portals to the unknown.
The call was sent out for help and adventurers from all over Embris heeded the call. Saving people, stopping the catastrophes, defeating the elemental entities. Despite the victories, they seemed hollow, the portals continued to appear, the energy released was not returning to the elemental planes. It was being siphoned to somewhere.
Through investigations the adventurers found that the elemental disasters were being intentionally created and siphoned from by a religious order that answered to the Lord of the Waves. Finding this cult siphoning the energy, the adventurers managed to capture several charged orbs from the group.
The Fingers, a group of deadly assassins, were released seeking to return the orbs to their lord. In response the adventurers decided to destroy the orbs, unleashing the elemental energies held within. Through the research of Beldren Sov, the adventurers began puzzling together the identity of the Lord of Waves.
Romek Joldunes, the nobleman from the province of Hydrus. A large man, wealthy and with grand goals of becoming a god. Loved by those close to him, a man that gave to the community, the face for the Delarius Trading company and… the Lord of Waves.
Once the identity was revealed it was only a matter of time before the adventurers gathered alongside the Order of Magi and other forces of the world, alongside those of the elemental planes themselves gathered by the adventurer Alimon Saiqua. While the army drew forth for combat against Romek’s fortress, a small group of adventurers drove into the heart of it on the hunt for the Lord of Waves.
Fujun, Gregory Hut, eDax Rerum, Angel Silverthorn, and Alimon Saiqua gathered to slay the would-be god, and through their mastery of combat they were able to find the ritual circle and disrupt the lord’s plans.
The world was left scarred, tense relations remained between those impacted, and orbs of elemental power were left unaccounted for in the end. But, the world was saved and Romek slain, never to return again.
For millennia the Gurui Plateau had remained a barren wasteland in which little life was able to survive. In recent times, a team of adventurers assembled by eDax ventured into this wasteland in hopes of purging its strange magical dissonance to set up a peaceful sanctuary for all. Traveling into what is believed to be the capital of Ancient Batra, the “Core”, this group found a place lost to time. Artifacts of an advanced civilization still patrolling the city, performing tasks without items to complete them with. They also encountered strange tendrils of pure anti-magic which wiped out any form of technology. Traveling deeper, the group found celestial beings known as Weavers which seemed to be stopping the tendrils from spreading all the further. As they reached the deepest part of Core, they found the weapon which destroyed Ancient Batra, and through their intervention inadvertently caused it to activate once more.
Through research and adventuring, the group found the truth of the matter, an ancient feud was discovered between Vindera and Airdruuma relating to the weapon which stopped it from being properly disarmed all those millenia ago. Through the intervention of those gods the group disabled the weapon and eDax’s dream was able to finally take root. The Core has now been opened up to visitors across Embris now that its portion of the Plateau has been tamed.
