The Calytrix University is a global academic institution representing the forefront of mage education and arcane research in Embris outside private corporations. The accolades achieved at this university are unanimously recognized and numerous alumni have found prominent positions in corporate and political spheres. The faction represents not just the students, but also the university’s professors, research initiatives, and other affiliates. The university offers specialized programs for field-operating affiliates, connecting adventures with the research initiatives of professors. These affiliates are offered the benefits of educational resources and programs at all five major schools when they aren’t off in the field.

Much like any internship, interns will be called upon to perform demoralizing grunt work and field tasks, occasionally they may be coopted into participating in the University’s lab experiments(please sign the waivers!!!). Interns are given open access to the five campuses of Calytrix University, as well as the central demiplane and teleportation circles.
Student Visa: You’ve gained access to the various campuses of Calytrix University and can easily travel between them using the shared demiplane. Travel between the cities containing the major campuses can be done for free for a limited number of times per month. When traveling, note that you are using this feature in the post along with how many uses you have remaining.

Academic Texts: Your mentor has given you a College Primer for the appropriate school. This will represent your choice of specialization into one of the five major campuses.
Funded Research: Gaining access to your mentors lab & funding has allowed you to perform research with ease (or simply tell interns to do the research for you). At the beginning of every month you gain a pool of lorepoints, these lorepoints are counted separately from your character’s lorepoints. When performing research, note that you are using this feature along with how many uses you have remaining. Any unused lore points expire at the end of the month.

Prerequisites: 30 Renown
Those who have exhibited exemplary work as a Research Associate, proving their talents in their field of study, will be upgraded to the position of Senior Consultant. As a consultant, adventures now gain the benefit of the full funding of the university and greater access to research.
Personal Research: As a senior consultant you are given a personal research lab within the demiplane of Calytrix University. You gain a Large Structure with either an Alchemist’s Lab, an Archanist’s Study, Library, or Smithy(Fancy) as the bonus room, a budget of 5,000 to spend on rooms and five interns funded by the university.
Stock Room: As a senior consultant you now have access to the collection of magical supplies, apparatuses, and prototypes that Calytrix University stores in a vault within the demiplane. You can borrow two of these items out at once if you meet the appropriate requirements.
Prerequisites: 40 Renown
Once an affiliate has been recognized as an expert in their field of study they will be given the honorary title of Adjunct Professor. They are well respected within the academic community and occasionally teach classes at the university. Adjunct Professors have earned a specialized research title depending on their field of study.
Academic Savant: You choose a specialization based on which of the five campuses you work with [Chosen at Renown 10]. You gain expertise in one of two potential skills and access to spells representing your mastery of the field. You can cast each of these spells without expending a spell slot. Once you cast either of these spells in this way, you can’t cast that spell in this way again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast these spells using spell slots you have of the appropriate level. The spells’ spellcasting ability is the ability increased by this feat.
Rose Academy - Arcanist: You have become a savant in arcane studies, you gain expertise in either arcana or persuasion. Your connection to the arcane has also given you access to the spells Mordenkainen’s Private Sanctum and Telekinesis.
Aelespire Institute - Planeweaver: You have become a savant in the planar magics, you gain expertise in either religion or arcana. Your connection to planar magic has also given you access to the spells Dimension Door and Contact Other Plane.
Luxhold College - Spellsmith: You have become a savant in magical craftsmanship, you gain expertise in one artisan tool of your choice or sleight of hand. Your connection to magical craft has also given you access to the spells Fabricate and Animate Object.
Saurian Arboretum - Primalist: You have become a savant in primordial magic, you gain expertise in nature or animal handling. Your connection to primordial magic has also given you access to the spells Guardian of Nature and Commune with Nature.
Vindresti Lyceum - Paranormalist: You have become a savant in paranormal research, you gain expertise in either history or arcana. Your connection to the paranormal has also given you access to the spell Divination and Legend Lore.
